This policy explains what information the US Box Lacrosse Association (“USBOXLA,” “we,” “us”) collects through www.usboxla.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website. Our other services, such as membership and registration, are described below.
Information we collect on this website
- Information you send us. If you email us (for example at membership@usboxla.com), we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
- Basic technical information. Like most websites, our web host automatically records standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working properly.
- Cookies. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress sets a small number of cookies only for staff who log in to manage the site.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use this website to build advertising profiles.
Membership, registration and player profiles
Some USBOXLA services are run on separate platforms that have their own privacy policies:
- Membership is handled through our membership site, membership.usboxla.com (Wild Apricot). Membership details such as a player’s name, date of birth and a parent or guardian’s contact information are collected there to confirm eligibility for sanctioned events.
- Team and event registration may be handled through SportsEngine, LeagueApps or a tournament director’s own registration system.
- Referee and coach certification is handled through the USBOXLA Academy at academy.usboxla.com.
- Stats and player profiles are published at stats.usboxla.com. Game statistics from sanctioned events are shown there. A member’s profile details, such as photos and “My Picks,” are shown publicly only if the member chooses to make the profile public, and can be changed or made private at any time from the membership site.
We use membership information to run sanctioned events: checking rosters, verifying that players are current members, recording game statistics, recognizing award winners and contacting members and families about USBOXLA events. We share it only with the people who need it for that purpose, such as tournament directors, referees and our service providers, or when required by law.
Children
Most USBOXLA players are under 18. Memberships for minors are created by a parent or guardian. This website does not ask children to submit personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information without a parent’s consent, please contact us and we will delete it.
Photos and video
USBOXLA events may be photographed or recorded, and some photos and video appear on this website, on stats.usboxla.com and on our social media. If you would like a photo of you or your child removed, email membership@usboxla.com with a link to the photo and we will take it down.
Third-party content and links
This website uses fonts from Google Fonts and may show embedded videos from YouTube, which may collect information such as your IP address under their own privacy policies. We also link to other websites, including tournament directors’ sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, and we keep it only as long as we need it to run USBOXLA programs or meet legal requirements.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you or your child, or to make a player profile private. Some information may need to be kept to maintain accurate event records, such as game results and awards.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
