The US Box Lacrosse Association (USBOXLA) is pleased to announce the confirmed clubs that will be joining Team USBOXLA East at USBOXLA Border Wars from May 23-24, 2020.

This inaugural USBOXLA-sanctioned event, the association’s first to be held outside of the United States, will be co-hosted with the National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) Toronto Rock, with games played at the team’s state-of-the-art Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (TRAC) in Oakville, Ontario.

Border Wars, which was announced just last month, generated interest from all over the country, but ultimately five local Ontario-based clubs were selected. These clubs will enter twelve teams across five stacked divisions, providing the Team USBOXLA program with arguably their most challenging competition yet.

“The immediate interest and record-high response we received for this event was beyond what we were anticipating,” said NLL legend, USBOXLA coach, and TRAC Director, Colin Doyle. “We heard from so many clubs, even ones outside of the province, that eagerly wanted to attend Border Wars.

“I believe the caliber of teams taking part in the first-ever Border Wars will make for an extremely skilled and competitive event. It will also provide Team USBOXLA East with competition that will allow them to test themselves against some of Canada’s best youth box lacrosse players competing today.”

In addition to Team USBOXLA East, clubs from the following cities participating in USBOXLA Border Wars are: Guelph, Halton Hills, Mimico, Oakville, and Orangeville.

Divisions will include:

PEE WEE
Guelph, Halton Hills, Orangeville, and Team USBOXLA East

BANTAM
Guelph, Halton Hills, Oakville, Orangeville, and Team USBOXLA East

MIDGET
Guelph, Halton Hills, Mimico, Oakville, Orangeville, and Team USBOXLA East

The 2020 Team USBOXLA East roster will be announced next week. A full schedule for USBOXLA Border Wars will be confirmed in the weeks leading up to the event. For more information on Border Wars please visit usboxla.com/borderwars
