The Rochester Knighthawks, who earlier this year became official members of the US Box Lacrosse Association, are offering youth a four-day box lacrosse camp in Rochester at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex from July 17-20.
The camp will be run by current Knighthawks players like Kyle Jackson, Brad Gillies, Dan Lomas, Luke Laszkiewicz, and the team’s recently named 2017 MVP, Matt Vinc, who’ll be providing camp goers with world-class goalie training and development.
The camp is open to boys ages 6-15. The Knighthawks are offering the option to stay overnight, which allows for both locals and youth outside of the immediate area to attend.
“This really is an outstanding opportunity to learn from some of today’s top professional players that have excelled in both box and field lacrosse,” said USBOXLA Co-Founder Shaydon Santos. “All of these instructors grew up playing box lacrosse, giving them a strong foundation to excel in the collegiate game and now in the National Lacrosse League. Attending this camp gives players an opportunity to truly get better through box lacrosse.”
Jackson, one of this year’s top NLL rookies, played at Michigan, Gillies at RIT, Lomas at High Point, Laszkiewicz at Robert Morries, and Vinc, who has won gold with Canada in both box and field lacrosse, was a four-year starter at Canisius.
“To be able to learn box lacrosse from these elite-level coaches will do more for the players attending this camp than anything else they do this summer,” added Santos.
Camper’s individual Weekend Warrior USBOXLA membership will be covered by the cost of the camp fee. Click or tap here for more information.
